✨ Impact Investing: Beyond the Buzzword - Insights from Hattie Brown ✨ At our recent HBCU Kirchner Impact Foundation Investment Academy, Hattie Brown, Managing Director of Impact and ESG at Kirchner Group, and Co-Manager of the Kirchner Impact Foundation challenged us to look beyond the buzzword and truly understand the nuances of impact investing. She highlighted four key concepts: ➡️ Impact-first capital: Prioritizes social or environmental impact, with financial returns as a secondary consideration. 🌎💚 ➡️ Finance-first capital: Seeks market-rate returns, with impact as an added benefit. 📈💰 ➡️ Lock-step capital: Strives for equal emphasis on financial and impact returns. 🤝⚖️ ➡️ IMM (Impact Measurement and Management): Focuses on effectively measuring and managing the social and environmental outcomes of investments. 📏🎯 Hattie's insights remind us that impact investing isn't one-size-fits-all. It's about understanding your priorities and choosing the approach that best aligns with your goals. Furthermore, effective impact measurement and management are crucial for ensuring accountability and maximizing positive outcomes. Exciting Experience at León Agtech Summit 2024! 🌱🌟 I recently attended the León Agtech Summit 2024, organized by the Kirchner Impact Foundation. This incredible event served as a catalyst for innovation in AgTech, FoodTech, and Food Security, connecting industry pioneers and promoting sustainable advances. The summit featured expert presentations and engaging panels, providing the perfect opportunity to build valuable connections and stay abreast of cutting-edge trends in impact investing, agriculture, and food security. One of the highlights of my experience was the immense honor of serving as a judge alongside my Fellows Arturo Macias and José Luis Quintana Carrillo for the startup pitch competition. This competition showcased some of the most promising startups in the country with great potential to drive sustainability and enhance food security. I am profoundly grateful to the Kirchner Fellowship Program for this invaluable experience and for the remarkable year we are concluding. Being part of the extraordinary Cohort M5 has been a true privilege, and I look forward to continuing to contribute to impactful initiatives in the future. Thank you to everyone involved in making this event a success! 🙌🏽 #AgTech #FoodTech #ImpactInvesting #FoodSecurity #KirchnerFellowship #Innovation #Sustainability
