Today for Construction Inclusion Week, we are highlighting supplier diversity and the important role it plays in the construction industry. Knutson's KAP Program was launched in 2015 to engage, mentor, and empower diverse businesses to grow steadily and thoughtfully through competitive opportunities in our markets. The mutual benefits of promoting a wide range of subcontracts, suppliers, and vendor relationships extend to both our company and the community. Not only does this contribute to the economic development of our local areas, but it also empowers deserving businesses that have faced initial challenges, paving the way for new opportunities for their growth and success. #ConstructionInclusionWeek #SupportLocal #DiversityinConstruction #BuildingExcellence

As we kick off Construction Inclusion Week, we at Knutson Construction reaffirm our commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse workforce. This week serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of creating an environment where every voice is heard, valued, and empowered. Today we celebrate the theme of belonging. Last week, our team had the opportunity to hear Mauricio Montes de Oca share his journey and the impact that Hispanic cultures have had on our society. Throughout his presentation, he shared the importance of community. Whether close to home or across the country, community provides us with connections, fosters a sense of unity, and leads to collective growth. #ConstructionInclusionWeek #Belonging #PoweringWhatsPossible

The Andersen Proton Addition Project hit another critical milestone - the take down of the tower crane! This crane stood 244’ tall, reached 213’ out, and could pick a whopping 44,090lbs! The crane worked 308 days on this project, helping move 850 tons of rebar reinforcement, 1,300 tons of structural steel, countless picks of MEP construction materials, and a handful of the 15,044 yards of concrete currently placed. It took a massive 450-ton crane about 10 hours to disassemble the crane today with a crew of 8 workers. The crane removal will allow the roof work to be completed on time and allow the rest of the interior floors to be buttoned up. Great work #TeamBlue! #ProjectMilestone #BuildingExcellence

Today, World Mental Health Day, we are sharing Bob Swanson's insight on mental health in the construction industry. As a volunteer for NAMI, Bob has spoken at over 200 events, sharing his story and personal experiences. He spoke to our teams about the importance of not only being aware of the warning signs of someone struggling, but also taking action to provide them with the help they need. One part of that is having these difficult conversations with an open mind and listening without judgment. #WorldMentalHealthDay #ConstructionSafety #MentalHealthMatters

Kayla has been a carpenter on one of our recent healthcare projects and shared with us her insight on the ability to have ‘courageous conversations’ concerning mental health in the field. She acknowledges how something that may seem like a small interaction, can build into a larger culture of normalizing mental health conversations in our industry. #ConstructionSafety #MentalHealthAwareness #TeamBlue

Wally, Knutson's Safety Manager, has worked in the industry for 33 years and is now in a role where not only physical safety but also the mental safety of the workers is a priority. Having a family member who has struggled with mental illness has given him the awareness to acknowledge the signs and provide support for those he works with, encouraging open communication on each of our job sites. #ConstructionSafety #MentalHealthAwareness #PoweringWhatsPossible

We are excited to break ground on the second phase of this project! #TeamBlue #HealthcareConstruction #Groundbreaking
Mayo Clinic Health System staff and leaders began a new chapter of cancer care at Mayo Clinic Health System in New Prague yesterday as they gathered to celebrate the groundbreaking of the Cancer Center and Infusion Therapy expansion. When completed, the new space will feature eight infusion bays, five exam rooms and a garden area for patients. The project is the second phase of Mayo Clinic Health System's strategic vision for the New Prague campus, reaffirming our commitment to providing high-quality healthcare in rural communities. The first phase, completed in January 2022, was an operating room expansion and the introduction of numerous surgical specialties, ensuring that residents in rural areas have access to advanced care close to home. The 6,400-square-foot Cancer Center project is expected to be completed by fall 2025. Congratulations to the New Prague team and the community!
