Siaba, located in the cocoa production heartland of western Côte d'Ivoire—the world’s largest cocoa producer—has faced lower-than-expected production rates over the past five months. In response, we decided to take a bold step by introducing a five-bladed wind turbine to power existing alternators in two target villages. The turbines: 🔹 A 2.3-meter diameter turbine. 🔹 A 1-meter diameter turbine. In just the past 72 hours, the larger turbine achieved remarkable results, increasing its production rate from 144 Wh to 1650 Wh—a 1047% increase! 🚀 We’re not certain this is the ultimate solution for the region, but innovation is never a straight road. Progress comes in starts and stops, with bursts of discovery and moments of refinement. As we enter the final three months of this project, I’m proud to be part of an initiative introducing wind technology in a country that still contends with outdated perceptions of renewable energy as a "last resort" for the poor. Together, we’re shifting perspectives and powering change. 💨⚡ #KOCBridgesToPeace #AegisEnergy #EnergyInABox #WindPower #WindEmpowerment #WindEnergy #SDG7
