Happy Employee Appreciation Day! Thanks to all the team members at Koch companies around the world who help us be our best. We recently asked some of our leaders what they value the most and here is what they shared.

Recently, Koch brought together more than 2,000 employees, both in person and virtually, for GenAI Connect Live at our Wichita, Kansas, headquarters. The event highlighted our charge to be explorers of generative AI and advanced technologies in order to drive innovation and enhance opportunities. It showcased how Koch employees are using these tools, such as predictive models and AI-driven chatbots, to continuously transform their daily work and roles to create greater value for themselves, Koch and society. James Hannan, president and COO of Koch, said, “The exploration isn’t for the sake of it. It’s to get to destinations that create greater value for our customers and the company, leveraging AI to help us better apply our individual gifts and achieve mutually beneficial results.”

Sometimes, transformation starts with a clean slate. After Molex acquired Phillips Medisize, the Little Rock, Arkansas, plant transitioned from producing electronic connectors to manufacturing medical devices. Meeting the healthcare industry’s demands required rethinking everything: the environment, processes and even mindsets. By embracing change and focusing on becoming a preferred partner to customers, the team turned challenges into an opportunity to deliver life-saving medical devices. Grateful to have joined Bob Ackerman to keynote the Global Cyber Innovation Summit and share Koch’s approach to transformation and cybersecurity. We discussed Koch’s approach to empower our businesses and partners by managing cyber as a business risk, encouraging continuous learning and supporting teams at every level. It really became a discussion about building culture and hiring great people who are contribution-motivated. It was an awesome experience learning and exchanging ideas with such an incredible group of leaders. Upgrades are coming to our plywood mill in Prosperity, South Carolina. This $14 million investment will make the existing boiler more fuel efficient and go towards other improvements at the plant, demonstrating our commitment to continuous improvement and reinvestment into the community of Prosperity. https://bit.ly/40Z9LD0

INVISTA was granted a patent for a nylon recycling process that could improve nylon 6,6 manufacturing by making more high-quality post-industrial recycling feedstock available. INVISTA has also submitted a second patent application for a process that enables the use of up to 100% post-consumer recycled content in the production of new nylon 6,6 components.

Experimental Discovery with new technology such as Proto Hologram is thriving at Koch. We surprised our group by beaming in Howie Mandel, who shared his excitement about the limitless possibilities and mind-boggling use cases this tech offers across nearly every industry. The opportunities we’re unlocking are exciting, and I can’t wait to see what’s next. Howie and Proto CEO David Nussbaum were fantastic - check out the video below to see them and Proto in action!
