In observance of National Hispanic Heritage Month, and this year’s theme “Pioneers of change, Shaping the future together”, Kokolakis would like to focus on the achievements of Rozana Montiel. Montiel, a notable architect from Mexico City, Mexico, is celebrated for her commitment to socially engaged and contextually responsive design. Her work addresses pressing societal issues, with projects such as the “Celosía” housing development, which promotes community building. Her work embodies the impact of architecture when it embraces the needs of the people and the environment. Congratulations to Evgenia Demetra Matheos, winner of the 2024 Kokolakis Contracting AEC scholarship on behalf of the @panhellenicfoundation. Evgenia is a sophomore at John Carroll University, majoring in political science on the pre-law track. She is enrolled in the Three and Three Law Program at John Carrol where she will earn a Juris Doctor degree from Case Western Reserve University Law School. She is on the Dean’s List and has volunteered at a high school, teaching ancient Greek studies. Evgenia is also a member of a Greek dance troupe and is an active member of the Chios and Nafpaktos Society in Cleveland, Ohio.
