    • Autumn foliage reflecting on the surface of Lake Mahkeenac, with Kripalu in the background amidst the trees displaying vibrant red and orange leaves.
  • Ayurvedic practices for better s-e-x. To everything there is a season, and in Ayurveda, this even applies to how much sex is recommended based. According to Vagbhata, the author of a 2500 year old classical Ayurvedic text, “During the winter season, the person can indulge in sex daily as much as they like after making use of aphrodisiacs and obtaining strength; once in three days in spring and fall; and once every two weeks in the rainy season and summer.” To learn more and discover six Ayurvedic practices for a better sex life, read the full resource written by Erin Casperson, dean of the Kripalu School of Ayurveda. This certainly puts a new shine on the approach of winter! https://bit.ly/2vB1gDq

  • Today is Indigenous Peoples’ Day, a day to honor and celebrate the history, present, and futures of Indigenous Peoples. We at Kripalu are humbled to be working, practicing and gathering on the ancestral homelands of the Mohican people. Despite tremendous hardship in being forced from here, today their community resides in Wisconsin known as the Stockbridge-Munsee Community. Kripalu has partnered with tribal representatives to offer programming focused on the tribe’s history and culture and has made all Kripalu offerings accessible by scholarship to Stockbridge-Munsee community members. With deep respect for their ancestors' pasts, we are committed to building a more inclusive and equitable space for all. We invite you to take a moment today to celebrate this holiday by learning more about the Indigenous people of your area and to celebrate the wisdom of ancestral Indigenous knowledge. Check out our Land Acknowledgement page, which has links for further exploration including a map to explore the Native peoples of the United States, the First Nations Development Institute site where you can find a recommended list for reading more about Indigenous experience, and the official website of the Stockbridge-Munsee Community where donations can be made to The Mohican Tribe’s Museum to help them continue to tell the story of their people. https://bit.ly/3sz3jiY
