I am heading to sunny Tampa to attend the IEEE RTSD and MIC conference to present our latest work in two groundbreaking developments: - Developing highly subpixelised arrays of CZT detectors allowing to radically improve 3D resolution of CZT detectors using machine learning methods. - First results from our Ultra-Fast and Ultra-Low dose Molecular Breast Imaging (#MBI) prototype combing the above 3D CZT technology and our patented densely packed multi-pinhole collimator technology with de-multiplexing capability. The complementary breast cancer screening with #MBI is the most promising technology to address the problem of #DenseBreasts in early detection of #BreastCancer. Universities are fundamental to the UK's economic development; as somebody who has led Kromek Group plc for the last two decades delivering commercialisation of technologies developed at Durham University, I know this firsthand. Our esteemed academic institutions must play a central role in the Government’s industrial strategy - my thoughts on this subject are outlined in the article below. It's now almost 2 weeks until Kromek's #RaceTo1000km Charity Bike Ride, we're past halfway to our fundraising goal and training is well underway 🚴♂️ Without leaving the Kromek boardroom, Stef and Tim with the help of the rest of the Kromek UK team are going to embark on a whopping 1000km stationary bike ride, starting 7th November at 9am and aiming to finish by midday on Friday 8th November. The purpose of this big cycling feat is all to raise funds for Pancreatic Cancer UK and the British Heart Foundation in memory of our much-loved colleagues, Elna and Tas. Their 1000km journey represents the distance it would take to travel from Delft in the Netherlands, where Elna once lived, to Oxford, where Tas worked for 9 years before joining Kromek, and then right up North to finish at our HQ in Sedgefield.
