A national resource center disseminating knowledge about East Asia since 1959.

About us

The KU Center for East Asian Studies (CEAS) is a National Resource Center within the U.S. funded by a Department of Education TITLE XI grant. We are located at the University of Kansas and are the only East Asia focused national resource center in the Great Plains region. Our mission is to disseminate knowledge of East Asia to a vast array of audiences. We fund student language learning and faculty research. We commit to outreach to K-12 educators by hosting annual educator workshops. We host several cultural events on and off-campus for students, faculty, staff and the general public. CEAS is always looking for new partnerships and events to increase our goal of disseminating knowledge. Wherever there is a need or want to learn about East Asia, we want to be there!
