Connect with us next week in Wichita for the 48th Annual Governor’s Conference for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect. Our colleagues will explore methods of measuring and supporting family and community well-being in two sessions on Thursday, November 7th. Details ⤵️ 🔵 Understanding Well-Being November 7, 1:30-3:00pm Presenters: Whitney Grube & Jared Barton Social Determinants of Health profoundly impact family well-being. Existing tools measuring family well-being provide a starting point but are not comprehensive of the factors that influence well-being. Jared and Whitney will introduce a new well-being measure and demonstrate its use to inform policy, practice, and new directions in family support. 🔵 Community Matters November 7, 3:25-4:55pm Presenters: Kaela Byers & Meghan Cizek An upstream prevention approach to family well-being requires community collaboration characterized by shared responsibility for child and family outcomes across community and service sectors. Through a case example of community collaboration and participant discussion, Kaela and Meghan will explore system gaps and essential components for building communities of well-being. #GovConfKS #StayConnected #ChildAbusePrevention #PositiveChildhoodExperiences Kansas Children's Service League KU School of Social Welfare
