We at Kumon share a dream – a dream of world peace brought about by education.
About us
Kumon is the world’s largest after-school math and reading enrichment program that has enrolled over 16 million children since its inception over 60 years ago. Founded by Toru Kumon, a high school math teacher who set out to create study aids in order to help his son excel academically, the program works to increase self-learning, confidence, and overall academic independence in children. Currently, there are nearly 25,000 learning centers in operation across 55 countries and regions working continually to unlock the full potential of those enrolled. Serving children from preschool through high school, the Kumon Method uses an individualized approach that is designed to accelerate the development of advanced math and reading skills. Many children enrolled in Kumon come out of the program studying well beyond their grade level, resulting in a brighter future for us all as they grow and advance into shaping the world. Kumon North America’s headquarters are located in Rutherford, New Jersey and support the operations of more than 2,100 learning centers throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. As a business, our focus is children. As an employer, we focus on valuing our employees through competitive salaries, generous benefits, abundant time-off, annual professional development opportunities, and more.
