Diwali, also known as Deepavali, is one of the most significant and widely celebrated festivals in India. It holds deep cultural and religious importance for millions of people. As per Indian mythology, Diwali commemorates the victory of Lord Rama over the demon king Ravana, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil. It also marks the return of Lord Rama to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile, during which the people of Ayodhya lit oil lamps to welcome him back. The name “Diwali” itself means “row of lights.” Homes, temples, and public spaces are illuminated with oil lamps (diyas), candles, and electric lights, creating a beautiful and vibrant atmosphere. This lighting symbolizes the dispelling of darkness and evil. Fireworks are an integral and influential part of Diwali as people come together to celebrate with family, friends, and neighbors by visiting their homes, exchanging gifts and bursting fireworks which completely illuminate the night sky. Diwali transcends religious boundaries and is celebrated by people of various faiths across India. Atlas Essentials India, a KUR International Group Company, is located in India and our team members there celebrated Diwali together. From our family to yours, happy Diwali! #diwali #KURResearch #diversitymatters #AtlasEssentialsIndia

Check out these last-minute clinical research costume ideas! Principal Investigator (or PI): a researcher, usually a doctor or other medical professional, who leads the clinical research team and is in charge of a clinical trial or research grant. PIs prepare and carry out the clinical trial protocol (plan for the study), analyzes the data and reports the results of the trial or grand research. Clinical Research Coordinator (or CRC): an individual, often a nurse but not required, who manages and conducts the day-to-day activities of a clinical trial. CRCs work closely with study principal investigators. Pharmaceutical Scientist: a professional who specializes in the science and technology of medical products, including drugs and therapies. They work in a variety of settings, such as pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, universities and regulatory agencies. They may design new drug therapies using natural or synthetic (man-made) ingredients or uncover new ways to use existing drugs to treat different types of disease. Director of Business Development: an individual who is a member of the business development team and is responsible for working with sponsors and outside companies to bring new clinical research studies back to their research team to complete. They also have to be able to thoroughly understand clinical research and what is involved, needed and required for a clinical trial. Research Volunteer: an individual who volunteers his or her time to participant in a clinical research study. Research volunteers are also known as volunteers, patients, participants and/or subjects.  Healthy volunteers provide researchers with crucial data because their health information can be used as a comparison. In some studies, researchers need to compare healthy volunteers with people who have a specific disease or condition, all of whom would be considered study volunteers. Those who participate in clinical research studies are also the real heroes of clinical research as they make new medications, medical preventions, treatments, therapies, diagnostics and sometimes even cures possible and available to the general public.  (Detailed definitions from National Institutes of Health or NIH)  #Halloween2024 #lastminutecostumes #clinicalresearch #KURResearch

KUR International's Atlas Essentials India employees participated in our Wear It Pink on Friday, October 18 in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Thank you to all who participated and don't forget to perform a breast self-exam (BSE) every month, even during pregnancy and after menopause. If you still menstruate, the best time to do a BSE is a few days after your period ends. If you have gone through menopause, try to do the exam on the same day each month. Many physicians and medical associations recommend you begin annual mammograms at age 40 if no issues have presented themselves before that time. #breastcancerawarenessmonth #notjustwomen #cancerresearch #KURResearch
