This garden project is a fantastic hands-on activity for the kids. It can help enhance their mental health by connecting and grounding them with the surrounding nature. Providing a sense of accomplishment as they watch the plants grow. Both staff and clients enjoy harvesting and snacking on basil, cucumbers, watermelon, and plenty of veggies! The sunflowers and wildflowers also bring brightness and joy to the campus! 🌻 💙Over in Missouri, the Lebanon Academy staff was transported back to their summer camp memories with a full day of team building at the Meramec Adventure Ranch. The Ranch provides outdoor adventure therapy to KVC clients and was the perfect location for the Lebanon team to bond and get to know each other! The day's activities featured fun at the adventure barn, with swings, a rock-climbing wall, a foam pit, hammocks and bean bags! 🏕️ 💙Sarah Marshall, one of our Regional Directors, presented at the West Virginia Schools of Diversion & Transition Juvenile Staff Conference! Sarah highlighted our exciting partnership with Fairmont State University, Marion County Schools, WV, and the West Virginia Schools of Diversion & Transition to create Middle College. This innovative program is transforming the lives of teens in foster care by providing them with free education and housing, setting them on a path to a brighter future.🎒 💙Our KVC Kansas team celebrated the retirement of an adored team member, Nancy who touched countless lives, built strong bonds with her team, and made a huge impact on those we serve during her 19-year-long career with KVC! Her ability to turn around stressful situations with just the right touch of humor is legendary, and she’s always been one of the first to lend a helping hand. Our KVC Institute leaders are thrilled to be working with the Chapin Hall team to rigorously study the impact of our Safe & Connected™ practice model in a real-world child welfare setting! We believe in the power of an evidence-based prevention-focused approach. This practice model can be used to safely keep children with their families and communities, reducing the need for child welfare contact and future involvement.  

Social media and our devices play a significant role in our daily lives and support our connections. But they're also tools we need to learn to use in a way that doesn't negatively impact our wellbeing, and young people don't always have the resources to navigate the complexities social media presents.
