The Kentucky Lottery is celebrating the appointment anniversary of President and CEO Mary Harville. During the four years of Mary’s tenure, the Lottery increased its sales nearly one billion dollars. These increased sales mean more funding than ever before is available to the many Kentucky college students and their families who receive scholarships and grants funded directly by Kentucky Lottery proceeds. Additionally, the Kentucky Lottery has been named a Best Places to Work four consecutive years under Mary’s leadership. Congratulations Mary on your outstanding tenure and on the many more accomplishments we have in store here at the Lottery.

KY Lottery. Fueling imagination and funding education for all Kentuckians.
About us
Established in 1989, the Kentucky Lottery was the first lottery in the United States to be implemented as a corporation. Our mission is clear – we fuel imagination and fund education for ALL Kentuckians. This is done through lottery proceeds funding college scholarship and grant programs with over $7 Billion in funding since 1999, including every dime ever awarded in the popular KEES Scholarship program. In order to do this, our plan is based on a structure which represents our operation. The most important part of our structure is the top - Proceeds, represented by the scholarship and grant programs we fund. Supporting this top structure are five columns which represent our core elements: Partners – retailers and vendors People – employees Players - customers Principles – integrity Products – games and delivery channels All of these elements are then supported by the foundation of our organization, Performance (operational excellence). The KY Lottery Core Values are Accountability; Diversity, Equity & Inclusion; Innovation; Teamwork; Social Responsibility; Fun; and Integrity Learn more about how the KY Lottery is achieving its goal of Fueling Imagination and Funding Education across the Commonwealth at www.kylottery.com. Global Lottery Expert. I help global lotteries grow revenues through my extensive subject matter expertise, international marketing knowledge/ experience, coupled with innovative thinking to generate results.
I was just having a look at lottery revenue performances and in particular the USA given NASPL is currently happening in Kansas City, MO, so it seemed appropriate to focus my attention on the US lotteries and understand a bit more of how they've been performing? What struck me was the sheer number of many US lotteries achieving growth in FY24 with some mentioning record growth, all of which is great and certainly highlights in the current economic climate there is definitely an opportunity to grow. However, one lottery stood out and deserves a special mention for its outstanding success of continual sales growth over the past 15 consecutive years...and it has even increased its CAGR growth, based on a 5 year period to double digits! But best of all, back in FY17 it reported sales of $987m....in just 7 years sales have more than doubled to over $2bn (FY24)...That is a truly remarkable achievement! Congratulations to the Kentucky Lottery Corporation under its leadership of Mary Harville. What you have achieved is just amazing and hopefully an inspiration for other lotteries to learn from your success and achieve similar growth.

The Kentucky Lottery Corporation is celebrating 35 years of funding scholarships and grants for Kentucky students and families, returning more than $5 billion to the state since 1999. Our 35th Anniversary Video we debuted in March was a North American Association of State & Provincial Lotteries finalist in the Special Category/Beneficiary Presentation. Congrats to our team, in particular Stuart Hammer, for creating this historic video.
