I'm seeking guidance on depositions from claims teams and defense attorneys. Having managed claims and attended countless depositions over my 35-year career in claims, I believe that these proceedings serve three main objectives: assessing credibility, obtaining relevant facts, and potentially facilitating settlement. I find it improbable to achieve these goals without a thorough understanding of the case's basic facts. Despite this, depositions are often set as a routine in many jurisdictions. What are your thoughts on this issue? I would appreciate your input.
