#LACountyParks Youth@Work program has won the GOLD EAGLE award at the Annual Productivity and Quality Awards (PQA) Program! Within the last year, 472 young people were placed in parks to gain valuable work experience. Of these youth job placements, 112 have since been hired on as both part-time and full-time #LACountyParks employees. Just over $900,000 went back into local communities through Youth@Work stipends, helping to further economic opportunities for youth, families, and communities. The #LACountyParks youth workers have been instrumental in co-leading Parks After Dark and after school and summer time programs and working alongside community and professional planners in carrying out the Puente Hills Landfill Project.
