There’s power in working together to uplift our Michigan communities. In giving back in service. And creating a positive impact. On Monday, Lake Trust team members dedicated their time and talent for Powered by Good Day, our annual day of volunteering. From Mount Pleasant to Metro Detroit, hundreds of Lake Trust team members volunteered in their neighborhoods. Working with nonprofit organizations that provide food, housing, clothing, and other essential services to strengthen their communities. In addition, this year Lake Trust Foundation continued its partnership with Scholastic Book Fair to provide the students of Estabrook Elementary in Ypsilanti with three free books each. There’s power in all of us to make a positive impact in the world each day. #ThePowerInAllOfUs #PoweredByGoodDay #CUKind

“Hispanic Heritage Month is a reminder of everything my family went through and sacrificed to be in this country, as well as the challenges they faced for opportunities of education and safety. My dad is one of my role models, and he came to the U.S. as a teenager and found work in Northern California. He left his parents, friends, and most of his siblings after he married my mother, all with the sole purpose of being able to provide for his family and provide better opportunities to his children. Remembering these stories and hearing the stories of what others overcame, motivates me to challenge myself and break through barriers that seem impossible to accomplish. This monthly celebration is also a reminder of the bond that unites me with others alike and inspires great curiosity in me to learn their stories. Stories of resilience, faith, and prosperity that have had tremendous impact on the nation’s history. As well as honoring and recognizing the work and influence that Hispanics have in the community. Social media is a great way to stay in the know about Hispanic groups, events, and partnerships. Cafecito Caliente, Fantasia Ballet Folklorico, 517 Hispanic Heritage Weekend, Latino Business Conexion of Michigan, Casa de Rosado Galeria and Culture Center, and Q’Pasa TV are also great organizations and events to check out if you’re interested in learning more about Hispanic heritage and culture.” . . . #HispanicHeritageMonth #ThePowerInAllOfUs
