We’re staying green and winning gold at Lakeview Hospital! We recently earned our sixth Top 25 Environmental Excellence award from Practice Greenhealth, the nation’s leading organization dedicated to environmental stewardship in health care. This award is Practice Greenhealth’s highest honor, accounting for a range of sustainability programs, including waste, chemicals, energy, water and climate. Lakeview also received a Greening the Operating Room Recognition award and a Circle of Excellence award in Sustainable Procurement, which both recognize work we’ve done on our campus to create a cleaner, healthier environment. And it’s not just us! HealthPartners earned 18 awards organization-wide, including its 10th consecutive Systems for Change award, and all eight hospitals received awards for showing dedication to sustainable practices. “A clean environment is an important foundation for health and well-being,” says Allison Egan, HealthPartners sustainability program manager. “These awards reflect the dedication, passion and support we have at our organization as we work to keep sustainability at the forefront of our efforts to move the health care industry forward.” Visit our news release to learn more: https://shorturl.at/rif0M

Debbie Thao calls it a joy to provide care as a nurse at Lakeview Hospital. For the past three years, she has split time between the surgical team and the Birth and Women’s Center. Her appreciation for the organization and her enthusiasm for the future Lakeview Hospital made her eager to take part in the Lakeview expansion survey which closes on Friday. “I took part in this survey because I am extremely excited for Lakeview Hospital as we prepare for a new building and location. One of the most exciting things to look forward to is the opportunity for patients to receive a wider range of specialized departments and care.” Debbie is excited to see the impact new technology and expanded services will have on patient care. She’s also hoping for more locker room space, storage areas and a walking pathway. What would you like to see in the new Lakeview Hospital? If you haven’t already, please go to https://shorturl.at/Thovb and complete our survey. Be sure to share with family and friends. The survey is open through May 24.

If you’ve noticed an extra big smile on the faces of our nurses this week, there’s good reason. The games, trivia and special treats in celebration of National Nurses Week were just part of a big thank you to our wonderful nursing teams. We want to thank our nurses for their partnership in goodness and offering kindness and compassion during patients' most vulnerable moments. We appreciate you!

Lakeview Hospital volunteer Janis Donnelly gives back, a lot! Janis recently received the “Outstanding Volunteer” Community Involvement Award from the Washington County Board of Commissioners and Community Thread. Janis has been a partner for good at Lakeview for more than 14 years and is known for her listening ear, calm confidence and ability to understand each patient and family. She has served in our former Teddy Bear clinic, provided hand massage, volunteered in our surgery department and is a familiar face in our Emergency Center admitting area today. Outside of Lakeview, Janis is active with her church and projects with the Stillwater Sunrise Rotary Club, including tutoring local elementary school students each week. Thank you, Janis, for your outstanding commitment to our patients, families and our entire community!
