About us
Hi, we are the Land-Grant Brewing Company, a production craft brewery in Columbus, Ohio. Land-Grant was born from a passion for painstakingly-crafted beer, powerful design, and a midwestern sports devotion. We all come from different backgrounds—Adam, business and brewing; Walt, design and photography; Q, pharmacist and homebrewing; Jamie, production brewing; Gus, basset hound—but we’re brought together through our dedication and commitment to the craft of producing championship quality craft beer. Alumni of Ohio State, Adam and Walt always dreamed of returning to Columbus to build something of their own. Before coming home to Ohio, the seed of what would become a 2,500 BBL capacity brewing facility was planted in a tiny carriage-house apartment on the west-side of Chicago. To test the viability of what was then called Oval Brewing, we launched and successfully completed a Kickstarter Campaign in 2012, which was crucial step in allowing us to tackle this thing right. A long 899 days later, with a brief stopover in Grandview, Land-Grant brewed it’s first batch (a Brown Ale) on September 16th 2014 and opened the doors to its Franklinton taproom and brewing facility one month later on October 18th.

HAPPY *EARLY* INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY! For International Women’s Day, the women and non-binary Land-Grant crew teamed up to brew a rose-inspired beer with Valley Malt's Girl Power Pilsner Malt—grown and malted entirely by women. We infused the liquid with Syrah concentrate and Sauvignon Blanc concentrate to achieve a beer with heavy wine characteristics. Grab a pint in just a few short weeks at the Land-Grant Taproom.
