In 2022, Little Architects, Orlando contacted Landreth Lighting to assist with the lighting fixture selections for Baker Hostetler’s downtown Orlando Law Office. The requirements for the design ranged from controllable ambient lighting for the workspaces paired with dramatic decorative accents in the public and circulation areas. The Landreth in-house application team provided a photometric analysis to confirm that required light levels were met for all occupied spaces. The focal point of the project is the main stairwell. A custom pendant was designed by Little Architects and custom built by Sonneman Lighting. The Baker Hostetler team was thrilled with the final result and their ability to have individual zone control with the Acuity nLight system. One South Orange is a historical building located in Downtown Orlando that was constructed in 1913. The new ownership group purchased the property in 2018 and set about to renovate the interior of the building. During the design development process, the design team selected DMX controllable RGBW products to be installed below the exterior perimeter cornice. The selected products required power and data cable to be installed. Due to the age of the building, it was determined that running new wiring would be expensive, difficult and unsightly. The owner contacted Landreth Lighting to evaluate alternate solutions. After walking the property with the construction team, Landreth proposed lumenpulse Lumentalk technology. Lumentalk provides the ability to send a DMX signal through existing power lines and eliminates the need to run control wires to individual fixtures. This makes for a much easier and cleaner installation and is less intrusive to the historical building. In addition, the Lumentalk solution reduced the cost of the exterior system material and installation by more than 50%. The installed products are easily controllable from a central computer tied to the network or from owner controlled mobile devices. The system breathed new life into a building with Lumenpulse products that more effectively highlight the classic lines of this beautiful early 20th century masterpiece.
