About us
Lanier & Associates is a multi-disciplined engineering firm that specializes in industrial marine projects with civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation engineers on staff. In addition to our complete array of engineering services, we also perform topographic and hydrographic surveying, construction management, permit acquisition, facility inspections, and vapor control system design and certification. For over 40 years, our principal clients have been major oil and chemical companies, liquid, bulk, and LNG terminal companies, in addition to construction companies and port authorities. We are experts in all facets of marine terminal design for liquids, grain, other dry bulk products and general cargo. Although we have successfully served clients throughout the U.S. and in numerous other countries, most of our projects have been in the Southeastern U.S., primarily along the Gulf Coast and the industrial waterway corridor feeding this area. In addition to developing new projects, we have successfully performed the evaluation, upgrading and expansion of older marine facilities. We consistently provide reliable, cost effective engineering solutions to our clients because we have successfully merged our strong construction background with a full range of highly refined engineering services.

Students have been back in school for almost two months now. With the excitement of "hitting the books," we want to highlight the local universities and colleges that are a pipeline for our future Lanier engineers, designers, surveyors and support staff. We applaud these schools for providing a solid foundation in engineering design that we can build upon through internships and entry level opportunities as we continue to grow and look forward to the next 50 years! Thanks University of New Orleans, LSU College of Engineering, Lamar University College of Engineering and all the other local programs that help us safeguard our future.

As we continue to commemorate 50 years of our journey, we would like to highlight our current president and son of the founder, Price Lanier. Born into a company also in its infancy, Price has quite literally grown up with Lanier. From high school summers holding a survey rod in the field to managing the regulatory department to finally filling the shoes of his father, Price has never taken for granted the success of the business. He quickly embodied the principles of providing excellence by design and the highest level of service to all of our customers. With Price at the helm, we sail smoothly into 50 years with no doubt of a bright future ahead.

🎉 We’re excited to share that our Port of Beaumont Main Street Terminal 1 project has won the Engineering News-Record (ENR) Texas & Louisiana Best Project Award in the Specialty Construction category! Completed in May 2024, the project involved demolishing a 100-year-old dock structure that had collapsed over a decade ago and constructing a new state-of-the-art general cargo dock. Our team employed several innovative techniques, including an unmanned survey vessel (USV) and divers, and finished the project several months ahead of schedule! Congratulations to the Port of Beaumont, Lanier & Associates Consulting Engineers, Inc., all trade partners, and our incredible project team for making this achievement possible! 🎉 #McCarthyProud #McCarthyBuild #BestProjectAward

Hurricanes Katrina and Rita hit Louisiana 19 years ago. Here, at Lanier, we have great respect for the resilient communities across Louisiana and our neighbors in Mississippi and Texas. As natives of the region, we pay tribute to the homes, businesses, families and lives affected across the Gulf Coast. Shoreline protection is vital to us, which is why we have developed shoreline revetment and erosion solutions along various Gulf South waterways protecting and ensuring resilience along our coastal communities. As we reflect on 50 years of continued success, we thought it was right to take a trip down memory lane. With nearly 150 years of combined service at Lanier, these four team members only get better with time. Take a look at Cindy, Joe, Stick, and Curtis throughout the years. (We had to dig deep in the archives to find these classic vintage photos!!) Lanier wouldn’t be Lanier without these four and, in truth, all of our team members - and their dedication to the company. Here’s to a lifetime of memories and the future that awaits! 🥂

During more than 40 years of partnership and hundreds of completed projects, it's difficult to pinpoint one project that encapsulates the mutual trust and respect that we have with our tremendous partners at the Port of Beaumont. The port is a vital asset along the Sabine-Neches waterway and has trusted Lanier for decades with many important project development opportunities including the Lee E. Smith Carroll St. Overpass and Main Street Terminal 1. "Lanier and Associates has been a long-standing partner with the Port of Beaumont. As our consulting engineers, they have led us through over a billion dollars of capital improvements at the Port. You will not find a more customer service-oriented engineering firm.” -- Chris Fisher, Port Director and CEO. To commemorate a long-term relationship built on quality, excellence and service, we'd like to say thank you to the many great people at the Port of Beaumont for being there for our first 50 years with many more to come!
