The River Parishes Tourist Commission is the official destination marketing organization for Louisiana’s River Parishes and is the driving force behind tourism to the area. A political subdivision of the State of Louisiana organization representing St. Charles, St. James and St. John the Baptist Parishes, the commission offers assistance to visitors, advocacy to its stakeholders, and helps stimulate the region’s economic growth by promoting Louisiana’s River Parishes as a premier travel destination.   • What a fantastic day we had at our King Kat Kids Fishing Event! Nearly 40 young anglers and their families joined us for a memorable day of fishing. It was wonderful to see so many fish caught, including some impressive catfish! We were fortunate to have Austin and Paige from Bonnet Carre' Spillway – U.S. Army Corp of Engineers partnering with us, as they shared their expertise and educating everyone about the local ecosystem and the vital importance of conservation. It was truly a day filled with learning, laughter, and incredible catches—creating lasting memories for all! A big thank you to all the families who participated and helped make this event so special. We look forward to welcoming you back for more fun in our beautiful River Parishes!

  • We had an incredible weekend at the King Kat Tournament Trail in Louisiana’s River Parishes! We are thrilled to share that we experienced remarkable growth this year, with 35 boats and 82 anglers from 18 states participating—up from just 7 teams last year! The energy in St. Charles Parish was infectious as we welcomed 32 new anglers and celebrated the return of 50 seasoned competitors. The King Kids Fishing Event was a special highlight, seeing the smiles of 37 young anglers and their families joining in the fun—over 100 attendees in total! It’s wonderful to see our community come together to celebrate the joy of fishing. Congratulations to our 2024 King Kat Champions, Damian Clark, Jeremiah Keen, and Paul Petrowski, with an impressive two-day total weight of 219.31 lbs! 🏆 Coming in 2nd place are Justin Browning and Jim Loudermilk, with a total weight of 213.34 lbs, and the 1st Place Big Fish at 68.11 lbs. Bill Parfitt and Brad Cox took 2nd Place Big Fish at 63.55 lbs. Rounding out the top teams, Josh Vanover and Keith Tarrence came in 3rd with 213.14 lbs, and Ronnie Duncan and Frank White finished 4th with 208.19 lbs. We extend our deepest gratitude to our amazing sponsors and partners, the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board under the Office of Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser, for providing fresh delicious Louisiana seafood at the Captain’s Meeting and Jacob's World Famous Andouille, for giving us a Taste of the River Parishes with their delectable Andouille sticks. A special thanks go to St. Charles Parish Parks and Recreation, St. Charles Parish Economic Development, and the Bonnet Carre' Spillway U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for their invaluable partnership.
