🌟 Join us for an impactful interactive workshop led by Karla Monterroso, where we’ll delve into the intersections of anti-Blackness and Latina identity. This workshop aims to shed light on the harmful effects of these dynamics within our communities, fostering open dialogue, personal reflection, and collective learning. ➡️ https://lnkd.in/ghDMBNtx Aligned with the San Jose State conference theme, “Empowering Democracy: Advancing Racial Justice and Equity in the 21st Century,” we will explore the historical roots of anti-Blackness and discuss actionable steps towards true solidarity. By confronting and dismantling internalized biases, we can empower ourselves and our communities to engage in broader movements for racial justice. This event, presented by Latinas Contra Cancer, Latina Coalition of Silicon Valley and Latino Leadership Alliance is part of San Jose State University’s “Transforming Communities: A Movement to Racial Justice.” Together, let’s work towards building a more just and equitable democracy by cultivating strategies for unity and shared struggle across racial lines. Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of a crucial conversation and contribute to meaningful change in our community! ✊🏽💪🏽

On Indigenous Peoples' Day, we honor the first stewards of this land—the Indigenous peoples whose strength and wisdom have shaped generations. We reflect on the deep history carried by the land we walk on and the resilience of the ancestors who fought to preserve their cultures. Let today be a reminder to recognize and uplift Indigenous voices, protect sacred lands, and continue the legacy of those who came before us. Their stories live on in every step we take. 🌿

In case you missed it: Latina Equal Pay Day brought together leaders, advocates, and community members at San José State University to rally for economic justice. We gathered for the Art Activism March, resource fair, and press conference to demand economic justice for Latinas in California and beyond... But this movement is more than just raising awareness—it’s about taking action to close the wage gap Latinas face every day. ✊🏽
