It’s a testament to us all as we continue to champion the causes we care about in the work we do each day. At the start of a new chapter, we know it’s because of your leadership — and the leadership of so many who have come before to open doors and make your moment possible — the future is bold. Meet our next RISING ICON. Ron Harris is a champion of helping everyday people discover their own power. A well-respected player within many political circles, he's served as an organizer, chief resilience officer at the City of Minneapolis, and now campaign director for Harris for President in the state of Minnesota. Driven by a belief that forward-thinking leaders and communities who mobilize for collective good hold the future, he leads by example and invites participation in the systems that determine it. "I'm working to ensure that leadership is about advancing agency, not just winning elections, and navigating the tension that decisions can be driven by both long-term impact and short-term gains." Meet our next RISING ICON. Emily LeVasseur saw an opportunity to affect change both seen and felt with the right strategic approach to welcoming more women to the supply chain industry. After a 14 year career at Cargill, she co-founded Waypost Advisors, an organization supporting midsize manufacturing companies. An expert trained at Purdue University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, she's become a leading champion of women in manufacturing and supply chain management in an industry historically dominated by men. "We have far more women on the Waypost team than men. I think we appeal to women because we support maintaining boundaries with work – we don’t require people to over-extend themselves. I think the world of contracted talent is changing and companies are seeing the value in temporary and fractional resources to help them establish best practices, and I think our team embodies the talent and behaviors that will grow that belief." "We're just not ready for PR." By reading this post, you're more informed than 90% of people who confuse public relations for publicity. PR is the communications exchange between a brand (even if that brand is you) and the public. It's how people feel when they think of you - not just what they read about you in the news. Publicity is the process of gaining public interest through the attention of the media. Coverage. Validation. THAT might be what you don't feel ready for. And you're probably right. Care to establish a baseline of your current PR efforts? Here's a quick overview PR versus publicity and a guide to establishing your readiness: https://lnkd.in/gBM-5Vqq ___________ We're LAUREL, a modern PR agency that works with leaders to establish key opinion leadership and go to market strategy.
