We're thrilled to be partnering with Contend Legal to develop new resources that will bolster our capacity to provide fast, free and reliable legal information. Watch the full interview with our Founder Martha Rans, K.C. and stay tuned for more exciting announcements!
A big Contend Legal announcement! So, so, so excited to publicly share the first nonprofit using Contend's AI. 🧠 📈 In an earlier Contend update, I mentioned that we work with partners in the nonprofit space, to help reach as many people with our cutting-edge legal AI as possible. 📯 I’m thrilled to introduce everyone to Martha Rans, who founded both PLEO (Pacific Legal Education and Outreach Society) and Law For Non-Profits. For her whole career, Martha has been fighting for access to justice, especially for artists, creators and other nonprofits who are making a positive difference in the world. This video includes a bit about her background, and what led her to working on access to justice, especially in a nonprofit context. There is one particular quote from Martha that especially moved me: “If people are equipped and empowered with the information that they need so that they can do it themselves, […] why can’t we do this here? This is what access to justice looks like.” 💯 Perfect alignment with our mission at Contend. A few timestamps to check out: 👩⚖️ 0:40 - Meet Martha! 📚 4:50 - Thoughts on why AI is exciting in the legal context. 👨💻 8:03 - A bit about our joint project + closing thoughts. Thanks for taking the time to speak with me Martha, and for everyone who is following the journey, more on this project coming very soon - stay tuned! 🙂
