Hello friends, I'm so thrilled to hear that we are #1 in 4 of the 6 Microsoft Certs in the city. Our students reached the program goal as well to go back to compete at the National level next year. Plenty of time to prepare for greatness... My students worked very hard to accomplish this dream. Congratulations to Justin Rojas, Tomas Alunni Aviles and Opeyemi Adeboye.
LAYC Career Academy Public Charter School students had the opportunity to interview for great jobs with Donohoe Hospitality Services and other DC businesses last week! Thank you to our partners at CityWorks DC for sharing these opportunities with our DC students!
Building a stronger construction and hospitality workforce in DC! ⚙️ CityWorks DC recently facilitated mock interviews to connect job-ready applicants with employers in the construction and hospitality industries. This initiative, in partnership with #HireLocalDC and Donohoe Hospitality Services, is part of our collaborative effort, the Hospitality Talent Pipeline Pilot. Our event brought together employers from two of Washington, D.C.'s largest and most important industries to provide valuable insights and guidance from leaders on effective interviewing techniques and achieving success in the hospitality and construction fields. Candidates had the unique opportunity to participate in mock interviews with members of the management teams from top local companies. We are proud to support job seekers and employers in these thriving industries and look forward to future initiatives that will help bridge the gap between talent and opportunity. Many thanks to partners like Thomas Penny III, Rustin Moore, Antwanye Ford, and Pete Kirschner, with leadership from Erin Ward Bibo, for their great collaboration.
