Nike is re-releasing a $50,000 shoe with Wu-Tang Clan, Dropping through Laylo Back in 1999, Nike dropped just 36 pairs of the Wu-Tang Clan Dunk Highs to the public. Those who were lucky enough to get their hands on them saw resale prices soar up to $50,000. While official images haven’t surfaced yet, both Nike and Wu-Tang teased a colorway that brings back the vibes of the 1999 original. The shoe features a leather build with a black base and yellow overlays—complete with Wu-Tang’s signature “W” embroidery. Exciting, right? These kicks are reportedly set to release this fall, but details on pricing and where to buy remain scarce. To build the hype, Wu-Tang tapped into Laylo to collect fans who want to be the first to know when and where they’ll drop. Fans will be on the edge of their seats as they wait for that Drop notification about these coveted kicks.

🧑⚖️ Using Law Firm marketing to sell out tickets?! Lake Street Dive has been wowing audiences for over two decades with their signature blend of soul, jazz, and rock. But for their latest Madison Square Garden performance, they didn’t just rely on their music to generate buzz — they got creative with their marketing. By partnering with Laylo, they turned heads across NYC with posters styled like legal ads, featuring a call-in number that played a teaser voicemail for fans and added them to the band’s SMS list. The result? A fresh, unexpected way to engage fans before the big night.

Brand partnership Music ∞ Data. Committed to driving value while valuing the humans behind data. Your favorite data lawyer's favorite data lawyer.

Next week is shaping up to be epic! The covers come off my new project and I'm celebrating with a panel at Mondo.nyc. I'll be moderating a panel titled "The Siren Song of Fan Data – Finding Treasure in a Sea of Uncertainty" 4pm on Tuesday in the Mirror Bar. The discussion features an incredible set of panelists who bring fantastic perspectives, including: Josh Roth, Co-Owner and Artist Manager at Standards Music, an artist manager thinking about fan data opportunitites for his artists every day; Meredith Peters, Head of Live Music at Laylo, who is working to build tools that enable artists to capture fan data value; and Cherie Hu, Founder at Water & Music, who is building a rising star industry analysis firm that just released a major report on data in the music industry. We will chat about the value of fan data, gaps and challenges in capturing fan data value, and what a modern fan data strategy looks like. The panel is going to be can't-miss content, and I'm thrilled to properly announce my new project. Can't wait for Tuesday!

This grammy nominated artist stripped naked to promote his new song Lewis Capaldi, who skyrocketed to fame in 2019 with his hit single “Someone You Loved” (which hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned him a Grammy nomination), has become equally known for his bold, self-deprecating humor in promoting his work. In 2022, Lewis took shameless promotion to a new level. He put up massive billboards across major cities, posing in nothing but his underwear, sunglasses on, cocktail in hand. The ads went viral, and he humorously tweeted about how “sex sells.” That same year, he posted his personal phone number to millions of fans, only for callers to hear a voicemail where Lewis cheekily asked for their money in exchange for his “body and soul.” The takeaway? Bold, unapologetic marketing works—and Lewis Capaldi is a master of turning humor into engagement and viral success.

LP Giobbi bought an Airstream trailer and travelled the US dropping surprise performances for fans using Laylo. It was honestly one of the coolest uses of the platform I've ever seen. We made a video about it:
