Last week, we had an amazing time at the GEC+ Conference Global Entrepreneurship Network in Puerto Rico! It was fantastic connecting with so many entrepreneurs, capital providers, and ecosystem builders. Monday kicked off with a powerful presentation by our CEO, Arturo Cazares, on the State of Latino Entrepreneurship, featuring our latest research with Stanford. This was followed by a panel discussion with LBAN Latina alums Carolyn Rodz | Hello Alice and Daniela Carvajalino | Biz Nation. Moderated by our Senior Director of Programs, Elian Savodivker, the panelists shared their inspiring entrepreneurial journeys, the hurdles they faced in securing capital and scaling, and the critical role of ecosystems and networking. On Tuesday, Elian led an insightful session on increasing access to venture capital for underrepresented founders, hearing directly from our esteemed panelists—Pete Amaro from L'ATTITUDE VENTURES, David Olivencia from Angeles Investors, Cheryl Campos from LaFamilia Foundation, and Shaydi DeJesus from Texas Venture Alliance—as they discussed strategies for securing capital and ensuring a more inclusive and equitable distribution of venture capital.
