Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. Samhain is a Gaelic festival on 1 November marking the end of the harvest season and beginning of winter or "darker half" of the year. According to Irish mythology, Samhain was a time when the 'doorways' to the Otherworld opened, allowing supernatural beings and the souls of the dead to come into our world. Día de los Muertos is a holiday traditionally celebrated on November 1 and 2 and involves family and friends gathering to pay respects and remember friends and family members who have died.
