Building People to Build Better, one conversation at a time! Our community of practice is blazing through the summer with a focus on technology that supports Lean practices for our local AEC community. The June event showcased three experts sharing opportunities for better data driven decisions, better communication solutions, and rapid scanning services. Please join us 7/26 for the next installment showcasing experiences from construction teams deploying Revisto, OpenSpace, Digital Last Planner tools, and Drone Deploy. You can find the link to register in the comments below. These learning opportunities are made possible by the contributions of our volunteer leadership team and our sponsors at Woodward Design+Build, RNGD, AOS Interior Environments, LACHIN Architects, apc, & Landis Construction #LeanConstruction #BuildingPeopleToBuildBetter Lean Construction Institute (US) #AEC

For Gary Hauptmann of Landis Construction ,the morning huddle is one of the most crucial meetings of the day. In just 15 to 20 minutes, it can prevent countless headaches and save significant time. This meeting is a chance to bring the team together, align on the day’s plan, and address any immediate needs. It helps ensure a safe working environment by fostering an understanding of each other’s tasks and potential hazards. It also allows for accountability through check-ins and the immediate identification of variance and issues. If you're not holding a morning huddle yet, it's time to start. Stand and deliver—begin tomorrow.

Building people to build better
Interns teaching Interns: Landis Construction intern Jake Monfra-Spellman did an outstanding job yesterday explaining his jobsite as part of our SBC team to our new YouthForce NOLA Intern Tionne Rushing. Jake is an example of our Landis values to Focus on Excellence and Work as a team. We excited to have Tionne join us over the next several weeks as she learns about our industry.

Worth Celebrating. One of our sponsoring members, Landis Construction highlights the value of Respect for People by recognizing their Trade Partners efforts to eliminate waste and create flow to generate value for the entire team.
This morning, Landis Construction Superintendent, David Wake, awarded the Golden Dustpan to WT Construction, Inc.'s JP Wet Labs crew. Each month a Trade Partner is selected to receive this award for displaying above the standard efforts in maintaining a Clean and Organized workspace. This crew of mason's consistently picks up after themselves and maintains an organized work space; which provides a Safe and efficient work site for their fellow Trade Partners that they work along side.
