We’re so proud to have facilitated our "Spotlight on Indigenous People" during Canada’s National Day for Truth and Reconciliation for one of our valued clients. Thank you, Insight, for trusting LCW facilitators Tammie Myles and Larry Baker to lead this important dialogue about the history and excellence of North America’s Native and Indigenous Nations. For any questions on our Spotlight Sessions, contact us at https://lnkd.in/gX9TNqzf. #ReconciliationWeek #IndigenousPeople #Inclusion #CulturalCompetence #FacilitatedLearning #LCW
A few days ago we held a powerful Spotlight on Indigenous People event for teammates, during #ReconciliationWeek. Presented by LCW, the session shone a light on the rich traditions of indigenous peoples and the social issues they face. Thank you, David Faber, program facilitator for Native Counselling Services of Alberta. He shared how Insight helped ensure greater respect for the legal rights of community members. It is our shared responsibility to engage in reconciliation by listening, learning, and taking action toward a more inclusive future rooted in respect and equity. Thank you to Microsoft as well, for co-sponsoring our event. #OrangeShirtDay #NDTR #TruthAndReconciliationWeek2024

We are grateful to have been part of Ulteig's inaugural Days of Understanding! Special thank you to Annie Rezac, for arranging an insightful session led by Larry Baker from LCW on leveraging diverse values and communication styles across generations. It was inspiring to see so much engagement from everyone on topics such as fostering collaboration from baby boomers to Gen Z. Thank you, Ulteig, for giving us the platform to share our insights and connect with others on such an important topic! Looking forward to more collaborations like this! #Events #DEI #Leadership #DaysofUnderstanding #Diversity #Inclusion
Last week, Ulteig hosted its inaugural Days of Understanding (DoU), uniting over 675 employees, both in-person and remote, for two days of impactful events and meaningful activities. The event began with opening remarks from our President & CEO, Doug Jaeger, and DEI Manager, Annie Rezac, followed by a profound Land Acknowledgement by Ben Rhodd, Lead Cultural Specialist. We were honored to hear from Darryl A. Smith, Founder of DAS & Associates, who delivered a compelling Keynote Address, and Brian Carwana, CEO of Encounter World Religions, who provided valuable insights on navigating faith in the workplace. The day concluded with an insightful Employee Panel on Empathy in the Workplace and closing remarks from DoU. On the second day, Larry Baker, Senior Facilitator at LCW, led an eye-opening session on leveraging diverse values and communication styles across generations. Grateful for the insights on fostering collaboration from Baby Boomers to Gen Z! In addition to these discussions, employees engaged in remote Lotería (Mexican Bingo) and a virtual DoU Scavenger Hunt. Some offices also organized in-office bingo, potlucks, treats, and watch parties, making it a truly memorable experience for everyone involved. We’re proud of the enthusiasm and participation from our team, and we look forward to continuing these important conversations as we strengthen our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. #DiversityAndInclusion #UlteigCommunity #DaysofUnderstanding #InclusiveWorkplace #LeadershipInAction

We are incredibly grateful that we had the opportunity to attend DEIB conference, presented by Diversity Woman Media. A special thank you to the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce for being a fantastic partner and client, and to our guest Emily Cooper for joining us. The event was truly inspiring and packed with valuable insights! As Emily has mentioned, the conference provided attendees with several key takeaways that are aligned with how we partner with our clients. From highlighting the importance of what are essential leadership skills, to showcasing that DEI isn’t just a box to check and that it should be actionable. We are thankful that we had the opportunity to come together with like-minded leaders. If these are topics you would want to explore further, feel free to reach out. We are happy to collaborate! A special thank you to Rebecca P., Larry Baker & Alisa M. Kolodizner for representing LCW at the conference! #Diversity #DEI #DEIB #Leadership #DEIBConference #Networking
🌟 Yesterday's Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) conference, presented by Diversity Woman Media at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place, was a truly inspiring event! 🌟 🙏 A big thank you to Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce members and friends Larry Baker and Alisa M. Kolodizner from LCW for the invitation, and to Sofia Rivera for joining me as a partner. 👏 It was amazing to see Chamber members Amazon, Google, McDonald's, Walgreens, Zurich Insurance, Ferrara, Edward Jones, and LCW sponsoring this important event. The day was packed with insightful panels on: 🔹 Building trust and inclusive workplaces 🔹 Disability inclusion 🔹 The future of DEI 🔹 Utilizing metrics for DEIB strategies Key Takeaways: 1️⃣ Constructive feedback, transparency, support, resources, belonging, and empathy are not just soft skills but essential leadership skills for building trust. 2️⃣ DEI should be actionable and not just a branding exercise. 3️⃣ It's vital to show employees how their voices lead to direct outcomes, ensuring they feel heard. 4️⃣ Equity means meeting people where they are and providing the tools they need to contribute effectively. 💡 This scratches the surface of an impactful day of learning. 🚀 Great to also reconnect with Steven L. Hunter and Tyronne Stoudemire from the Chamber's DEIA Steering Committee panel in May. I can’t wait to continue to unpack the learnings. #DEIB2024 #Leadership #Inclusion #Equity #Diversity #WorkplaceCulture #ChicagolandChamber #HyattRegency #LearningAndDevelopment

“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” - African Proverb This is a quote that I reflect on often, and captures how I feel about the power of teams, communities, allies and partners who come together to achieve a common goal. In our latest blog, I had the opportunity to interview several of our partners, and discuss the evolving needs of a multigenerational workforce and strategies to create a more inclusive workplace. Thank you to our partners who continue to show up, do the work and are committed to the advancement of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging and Accessibility across the workforce, workplace, marketplace, and community.
