This morning, Amy attended the State of the Schools GEL program at Kent State Geauga. Many adult and heritage alums were in attendance! Including our board president, Janice Sugarman, past board member Susan Kruger, and Director of Engagement Julie Gorenc from the Geauga Growth Partnership, pictured here. Thank you, Kent State Geauga and Geauga Growth Partnership, for continuing to offer interesting GEL programs!

  • The Fall 2024 Heritage Program has had the best weather days for their class days! Today, we spent Agriculture Day at Patterson Fruit Farm, where Jim and Kristin gave many samples of apples and led a tour through the facility. Then, we heard from Mandy of the Geauga County Farm Bureau, Bob and Amy Rogish of Rogish Farm (who also led a fall pumpkin decorating craft with their own dried flowers!), and Darrell Fleming-Kendall of The Ox Shoppe.

  • 🌟 Adult Class Member Spotlight: Courtney Crawford🌟 Courtney Crawford, a Physical Therapist at Chardon Performance Therapy, has spent most of her life in Geauga County. Growing up in Chesterland and now living in Auburn, Courtney and her husband returned to the area, after attending college out of state, to raise their three children, who attend Kenston Schools. Her love for Geauga County runs deep, as she stays active in the community through volunteering with Geauga's Best 4-H Club, the Geauga Youth Hockey Club, and coaching the Chardon Youth Running Club. When she's not working or coaching, Courtney enjoys running, lifting, horseback riding, playing hockey, and spending time with her family. Her passion for animals shines at home, where she cares for an array of pets, including dogs, cats, chickens, turkeys, goats, and sheep. She even fosters puppies and kittens for Geauga Mama Dogs and Pups. Through her Leadership Geauga experience, Courtney is excited to learn more about the businesses and programs that make the county special. She has a deep appreciation for Geauga's beautiful landscapes, from the sunrises over the fields to the livestock that dot the countryside. When not coaching or working, you can find her kayaking at Lake LaDue, baking bread, or enjoying time around a campfire with friends. For Courtney, Geauga County is more than just home; it's a community that thrives on support and connection. We're excited to show you all that Geauga County has to offer, Courtney!
