To us this was worth more than money. You see the best part of working together as a work family is the support we have for each other. EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT Derek Lopez has been an asset to Learning Environments as a sales and project managing powerhouse for 5 years He says Kevin Bowman and his family inspired him to pursue the position he is in today and in the next 5 years, he hopes to take more of a leadership roll to assist in problem solving and trouble shooting. When asked what the best advice he could give to someone just starting their career, Derek answered "Be a sponge! Listen and ask questions! Breathe. No one expects you to know the company right off the bat! A good friend once told me 'The only stupid questions are the ones you don't ask'" (good advice if you ask us!) When asked about the toughest challenges he's had at work, Derek responded "Making a mistake and beating myself up over it. I've learned that we can be and are our own worst enemy at times! The lesson from this is knowing that mistakes are bound to happen and at the end of the day were are human. If we aren't making mistakes are we really trying?" More fun facts about Derek: Morning or night person? "Hands down both!" Favorite way to celebrate something? "First, giving the glory to God! Fellowship with that is part of the celebration." Favorite soda? "Diet Dr. Pepper of course!" What emoji do you use the most? "The laughing emoji" What is your biggest pet peeve? "No determination!" What do you think the most important job is? "Accountability--there needs to be more of it and it has to be consistently monitored" How do you spend your free time? "With my wife and kids!"
