🌍 In July, the Learning Generation Initiative (#LGI) had the opportunity to join communication specialists from around the world at edc.org's International Development Devision Comms Summit. This event provided a platform to explore opportunities amongst communication professionals and share different approaches to impactful storytelling.   📚 The summit focused on strengthening our communications network and boosting cross-project collaboration with #EDC, hearing from colleagues in the field and developing new project approaches.   📝 Over three days, we engaged with 13 comms specialists from different countries, delving into project-based communications. The summit was dedicated to refreshing technical skills in storytelling, brand identity, social media, photography, media engagement, and pitching.   🤝 This enriching experience with #EDC (edc.org) has strengthened our network and equipped us with the tools to better communicate impactful stories that drive international development and progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals.   #Communication #Storytelling #InternationalDevelopment #SDGs #EDC #LGI

🗓 Happening Today, Wednesday, August 14th, from 17:00 - 18:00 EAT! Our session "Approaches in Delivery: What the Evidence Suggests" at the EAC Conference will feature presentations by Ken Opalo, Shem Bodo, and Deborah Kimathi, and will be moderated by Baela Jamil. Our presentation will explore key findings from the #DeliverEd final report, Deliberate Disruptors: Can Delivery Approaches Deliver Better Education Outcomes?, published in June 2023. This report underscores the necessity of improving performance and policy delivery to achieve the 2030 #SDGs. It translates academic research into practical policy considerations and introduces a framework for launching, learning, sustaining, and scaling delivery approaches. We will also introduce our new Delivery Toolkit, designed to guide countries in implementing these approaches effectively. Key discussion themes will include managing expectations, ensuring sustainability and integration, and addressing challenges. While Delivery Approaches can align stakeholder incentives and harness data effectively, they should be viewed as tools to align goals and focus attention on national priorities, rather than complete solutions to systemic educational issues.
