Is 60 the New 40?
Turning 60 this month felt like a moment to pause and reflect. But instead of feeling like I’ve reached a destination, I realize I’m just getting started.
My career has spanned four different companies, spending the last 20 years at Horizon Media, where I served as Chief Talent Officer. I was fortunate to work alongside the dynamic, provocative, and inspiring Bill Koenigsberg, collaborating with him and other fearless leaders, helping grow the company from a small agency into the largest and most recognized independent media agency. This longevity allowed me to contribute in meaningful ways and foster lasting relationships, always putting people, experiences, and culture at the forefront.
As I lean into this next chapter, I am embracing a multi-dimensional approach, sharing my time as an Executive Advisor & Certified Holistic Wellbeing Coach at Horizon, while also working with private clients after earning my certification this year from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) and National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching (NBHWC) accreditation.
In addition to my coaching and advisory work, my experiences, interests, and desire to make a broader impact have connected me to this exciting opportunity with Leela Life. It’s a privilege to work with visionary Hari Nair, whose leadership during these unprecedented times is guiding the company toward shaping the future of global wellbeing. Together, with an exceptionally talented team split between New York and India, we are spreading the life-changing power of Indic wellbeing to the world. I’m excited to continue exploring new ways to help people live healthier, more balanced lives, and to support their wellbeing in profound ways.
And all this at 60—who would’ve thought?
A 40-year career isn’t a straight line, but rather a lattice of highs and lows. While the highs were exhilarating, the lows were met with uncertainty, panic, occasional tears, sleepless nights, and self-doubt. Yet through it all, I’ve been steadfast as a builder and a seeker, paving the way for what’s possible rather than sticking with the status quo. Most of all, I’ve met extraordinary people along the way who have inspired and shaped my journey.
Upon reflection, what I’ve learned along the way is this: I thrive in the comfort of discomfort, fear has never held me back, and asking probing questions is your secret weapon. Fostering relational connections is just as important—if not more—than achieving performative outcomes. Self-discovery is worth the time and effort, embrace your individuality, always give people the benefit of the doubt, don’t forget to pause, have fun, and never sweat the small stuff. Less is always more, and not knowing is better than knowing. And when you least expect it, expect it.
Despite the complexities of the world we live in, I still believe in what’s possible. I’d love to hear from you—message me, and let’s explore those possibilities together.
