Congratulations to our very own, Margaret Hunt, Alvord Branch Manager, AVP, for being named one of Wise County Messenger's 40 Over 40. Margaret started in the banking industry in the 90's after graduating TWU and has since worked in all departments of banking. Margaret's love for her hometown drew her back to Alvord where she has been working for Legend Bank for the past 16 years. She is a true example of our value of COMMUNITY by serving with the Alvord Meals on Wheels, Alvord Cares, The Spirit of Christmas, United Way, Ronald McDonald House and serving on the board of the Wise County Salvation Army. One of her favorite things about being at the Alvord branch is the tight family unit of her employees and how great it feels to serve the community she loves. This week the Independent Bankers Association of Texas held their 50th Annual Convention. Legend Bank was honored to receive the Gold Eagle Award for Bank Culture for our Leadership Enrichment and Development Program (LEAD). Created in May 2023, this program was started to grow and develop future leaders of our organization. We also received the Silver Eagle Award for Marketing for our annual Christmas video that started back in 2017. In 2023, we created a Hallmark Christmas Movie parody featuring one of our customers and bankers to create a story of “love and payments”. Each year we take this opportunity to give back to our communities and last year were able to spotlight the Montague County Child Welfare Board (MCCWB) and the work they do to meet the needs of abused and neglected children in Montague County as well as assist foster parents and Child Protective Services in aiding children in their care. We Wear Pink on Wednesdays to help spread awareness. Breast cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed among women in the U.S. Each year, about 30% of all newly diagnosed cancers in women are breast cancer. Performing routine self examinations and getting an annual mammogram for women over 40 have a huge, positive impact on catching cancer in it's early stages. This organization consists of parents and students working together to strengthen the bond at their school. Yesterday the new officers for the Financial Women in Texas Dallas Group were announced at the August luncheon. Charlotte McChesney, Controller, SVP for Legend Bank, was named Vice President of the FWIT Dallas Group.
