Interprofessional training is so important for student healthcare professionals. For example, when a healthcare team responds to an emergency in a patient's room, who takes the lead? How do healthcare professionals from different disciplines and with different priorities communicate? Yesterday our students physical therapists trained with student physician assistants from the Morehouse School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program and standardized patients. MSMPAP has been our partner in this training for the past four years, and together we're making sure that tomorrow's healthcare providers practice at the top of their profession. #thestateway

On this first day of classes, the Lewis College welcomed 2,913 students, including these 71 new Master of Science in Nursing students--our biggest MSN class since 2015. Most of these BSN-educated students are earning their master's to become (sorely-needed!) advanced practice nurses. Careers in the health professions are soaring--both in terms of the number of openings and starting salaries. Want a degree that pays? Encourage your high school student to consider a healthcare career. #thestateway
