Liberty ARC, the Montgomery County Chapter, NYSARC, Inc., was founded in 1957 by parents of children with developmental disabilities who wished to establish special education programs in the local community. For over 60 years, the organization has provided the area with top-quality supports and has grown to include vocational, recreational, residential, day, family support and health-related services to nearly 580 individuals with physical, developmental and other disabilities.

Happy Unification Day! We are proud to welcome the people we support and employees from our sister The Arc New York chapter, Schenectady ARC, to the Liberty ARC family! Today’s the day we officially unify under the name of Liberty ARC. “We are so pleased to announce that Liberty ARC is now a unified agency, covering both Montgomery and Schenectady Counties, and providing excellent person-centered services to people with disabilities in our communities,” said Jennifer Saunders, CEO of Liberty ARC. The agency now provides services to over 720 people with disabilities and employs over 1,100 full and part-time staff members.
