Best advice from Liz Wilson Marion - Real value is about serving others—connecting your message to your audience. When you shift the focus to them, the pressure lifts, and you bring your best. And remember, 'clear is kind.' Be direct. Make it easy for people to understand and act on what you’re offering. Focus on them, and the impact will follow. #internalcommunications #leadership #communications #teambuilding #professionaldevelopment

Sometimes a little comic relief is the best medicine! 🎬 We had a blast recording this video—plenty of laughs, but here’s the serious part: The stat is real. On average, employees lose 46 days of productivity every year due to ineffective communication. That’s 1.5 months—more than most people’s annual vacation time. Imagine what we could accomplish if communication was clear, efficient, and effective across the board. I’m on a mission to create workplaces where people are excited to show up every day, equipped with the tools and strategies for seamless communication. In the latest issue of The Chatter, we dug into this stat and explored actionable steps to turn this around. Check it out in my profile! I stand for communication that removes roadblocks, boosts morale, and drives real results. Because every day counts—let’s not waste 46 of them.

Growth happens when you push past the fear to share what truly matters. Confidence? It’s built one rep at a time. Thousands of reps later, I can promise you this—whether you’re pitching your business, leading a team, or just practicing in front of the mirror, showing up consistently is the only way to make it second nature. Don’t wait for the perfect moment. Start practicing now. Your message deserves the spotlight. Ready to put in the reps?

In 10th grade, I stood on a theater stage in my "inner wear." The one-act play was 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘔𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘔𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘞𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘞𝘪𝘯𝘴 by Madeleine George—"Challenging, brutal, and hilarious, four women of various shapes and sizes sitting in the waiting room of a liposuction clinic explore their perceptions of body image." Opening night, the four of us—10th and 11th grade young women—were terrified. The audience was filled with teachers, administrators, parents, and other students - and most of them were pretty shocked to say it lightly. As students at an all-girls school, we knew the message for women to accept themselves and to stop the self-loathing was important enough to push past the fear and discomfort. And we were grateful for the opportunity to perform this play and knew it wasn’t just for us. We were speaking for the young women who weren't able to articulate what they needed to say (our friends, our classmates) and we were paving the way for those who came after us to take on challenging material at the same time. Each night it got a little easier. If we had more than three nights to perform, I imagine it would have become second nature to stand there, vulnerable, as the stage lights dimmed. This story is one of the most pivotal in my life—it was 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 and 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴. I shared this story for the first time during a recent workshop with Like Minded Collective OC. I never imagined I would share it here but it resonated so deeply that I decided to go ahead and practice what I preach. My message to the women entrepreneurs in the room—and to you—is twofold: • The unique message and value you have to bring to the world is important enough to push through the fear and discomfort. • Confidence in communication and stage presence comes with reps. I’ve done 1,000s of reps, but it’s hard to see how you’ll get comfortable unless you put yourself out there when the opportunity arises. (Hint: sometimes you have to look for opportunities and make the opportunities yourself) 𝗠𝘆 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝘀. Whether it's just recording yourself on Zoom at first, practicing on your commute pretending you're on a phone call, or with a small trusted group of friends. The reps matter and your message matters. Last week, I shared my 4 foundations for you to develop communication confidence and start making your own opportunities to get in those reps.
