A Roaring Good Time: Inauguration of our Hong Kong office at Airside with a Traditional Lion Dance! 🏢   On Tuesday, we held our Hong Kong office inauguration at AIRSIDE with a vibrant and auspicious traditional Lion Dance! 🦁   The air was abuzz with excitement as the lion dancers, adorned in vibrant red and gold costumes, started to beat the drums and cymbals.    The office inauguration commenced as our Managing Director of Hong Kong, Sven Engelhardt dressed the lions with radiant gold ribbons. Sven was joined by the Hong Kong senior leadership team Bernard Counsel and Elisabeth Nestor-Sindele, as well as our General Manager Roberto Guolo in performing the traditional eye-dotting ceremony and picking of auspicious greens. The month of August sees the wrap-up of convocation ceremonies for graduates from different institutions – say hello to our newest batch of Graduate Trainees whom have joined us at #teamlidl! 🎓 Our 2-year Graduate Programme provides them exposure to all areas of the business, with 3 different streams of opportunities in the Commercial, Specialised and Corporate tracks. Last week, our Director of Financial Management, Julain Prevost participated in “Managing Corporate Expansion in Asia-Pacific”, an event held in Singapore, hosted by the Financial Times in partnership with DBS Bank. The topic discussed by the panel was: “How can finance and treasury support business diversification?”. Julain P. was one of the industry leaders, hailing from different well-known companies, who shared their expert insights in relation to how corporate finance and treasury leaders are adapting to changes in the global business environment and the role they will play in Asia-Pacific’s future as an investment destination. 🌏 The panel explored how such teams are integral to achieving their strategic objectives. A look back as we attended the closing ceremony of Enterprise Singapore’s Sustainability Open Innovation Challenge (SOIC) 2023 on 11 July. It’s been an incredible journey working alongside so many talented innovators dedicated to sustainability. 🌱 To recap, our challenge statement focused on exploring scalable alternatives to packing solutions that uses non-biodegradable pollutant, Expanded Polystyrene (EPS), in a bid to improve overall packaging recyclability and minimize negative environmental impacts. ♻ Going through the process of the SOIC was definitely an interesting learning experience and we see great value in leveraging this platform. 💡   A big thanks to Enterprise Singapore and Padang & Co for making this possible and also to our dedicated team members Aries Au, Sarah Obser, and Laurent MALLET who spearheaded the engagement with SOIC. 🤝   We look forward to the next Sustainability Open Innovation Challenge and we hope to find more innovative solutions to green our business! 🌳   #Sustainability #Innovation #Gratitude #Teamwork #SustainableFuture

Last Friday, we hosted 130 participants at our Regulatory Supply Chain Management and Sustainability Supplier Summit in Dhaka, Bangladesh, to raise awareness of our standards and requirements along our supply chain. It was an action-packed and insightful day with sessions on key compliance topics, including supply chain traceability and science-based targets. 💡🍃 The highlight of the Summit were the panel discussions. Our compliance & beyond panel featured SQ Group, Karupannya Group and Better Work. The panel revolved around three essential topics: 1. How technology can empower workers 2. How Better Work’s management system approach supports factories in the long-term 3.
