We would like to give a shoutout to our Camp Crew from the Pine Knot Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center! These young folks came from Kentucky to help set-up, clean, maintain and break down facilities, distribute supplies and meals, and provide support on the Tiger Island, Hwy 113, Elizabeth & Lions Camp Rd fires, in Louisiana. They have done an incredible job at the incident command post. Thank you!

Blackwell Job Corps Carpentry students took advantage of this nice fall weather, by applying a clear coat sealant on the Town of Blackwell’s welcome sign today. Blackwell Job Corps donated the sign and installation work to the town last year, in honor of their 100th birthday celebration. We hope the sign is enjoyed for many years to come!

Our very own Morgan Rahm was present at the WJCIA Conference, in Wisconsin Dells! She spent September 20th-21st representing Blackwell at the Wisconsin Juvenile Court Intake Association, in the Wisconsin Dells. The two-day event had a record number of 273 Youth Justice Social Workers, Juvenile DCF workers, Adoption and Foster Care agencies, school counselors, and school liaison officers from across the state of Wisconsin! Morgan spent her two days educating conference goers about the potential Blackwell (and Job Corps) has in store for eligible individuals and fostering potential partnerships for the future.

A group of our Blackwell forestry students have arrived this week on the East Coast! After a stop yesterday at the Brookhaven National Laboratory on New York’s Long Island, they are now headed to Prudence Island, near Portsmouth, Rhode Island and then, on to Maine. Students are there as part of Job Corps Work-Based Learning Program. They will be tree thinning in their assigned areas, to promote the overall health and growth of these beautiful forests. 🌳
