About us

Lifeworks is a Minnesota 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1965 by parents of children with disabilities. Our mission is to partner with people with disabilities to drive change by increasing opportunity and access in the community. We envision a community where people with disabilities are more broadly valued, hired by employers, receiving support, and participating in ordinary activities. Through Fiscal Support, Employment, and Day Services – as well as through partnerships with nearly 300 businesses – Lifeworks provides support to 2,500 individuals with disabilities and their families throughout the Twin Cities and greater Mankato area.

    On Wednesday, October 30 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., take part in a Mock Election Day event specifically designed for people with disabilities to experience the voting process firsthand before Election Day! This non-partisan event, co-hosted by the Hennepin County Elections Office and InControl MN, provides an amazing opportunity for individuals with disabilities to practice using accessible voting machines, understand their rights, and feel fully prepared to cast their vote on Election Day. Voting is a right and everyone should feel confident and empowered when they head to the polls! Here’s what you need to know: When: Wednesday, October 30 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Where: Adams Hill Conference Room at the Southdale Library (7001 York Ave S, Edina, MN 55435)
