Yesterday, we held our first Partner Summit, Sync. Partners, clients, and investors operating in over 140 countries joined us in Los Angeles for a State of the Union of Lightspark two years after we started our journey to reinvent how money moves. We also announced new products and capabilities. Introducing UMA Request and UMA Auth First, an update about Universal Money Address (UMA). We’ve been progressing well with partners and clients. By year-end, UMA will be live in nearly 100 countries to enable seamless, fiat-to-fiat payments 24/7. Email for money is getting real. UMA Request redefines how businesses and users interact with payments. With just a few taps, merchants can seamlessly request payments from any UMA-enabled wallet. This will unlock e-commerce, B2B invoicing, and simple P2P money requests across currencies, payment systems, wallets, and banks. UMA Auth is OAuth for money. Built on Nostr Wallet Connect, it enables consumers and businesses to create a 2-way connection between their wallets, platforms, and services. It’s push/pull delegation with user-set limits. This will also unlock subscription and recurring payments. Lightspark Extend Extend is a new solution for businesses that enables Lightning and instant payments to eligible account holders in the US for the first time. This compliant, low-cost, 24/7 integration allows UMA and Lightning-enabled wallets, exchanges, or bank accounts to send payments using Bitcoin. Lightspark Extend for the US and Mexico will be available by the end of the year, and Brazil will quickly follow. Introducing Spark Spark is a new, payments-focused, high-performance, massively scalable Bitcoin L2. It extends Bitcoin and Lightning and enables non-custodial wallets to send and receive payments in real-time at virtually no cost. It’s early days for Spark, but we’re confident it’s the missing piece for Bitcoin to win at becoming the standard open protocol for money on the internet.
