Two Linn County GIS staff, Matt and Peter, recently received Excellence in Action awards from the Iowa State Association of Counties (ISAC) for their development and implementation of two new online hubs increasing resident access to resources. Matt worked with the Treasurer’s Office to create a GIS-based system that brings increased transparency to the property tax collection and distribution process in Linn County. Peter worked with Community Services to create an online Community Resource Hub that allows residents to find resources such as housing, childcare, food, jobs, and transportation. Both projects align with Linn County's Strategic Plan of improving customer satisfaction and quality of life for residents by increasing the transparency of property taxes and the accessibility of community resources.
