Employers face a growing challenge—too many jobs and insufficient skilled workers. In our latest Market Study: AI & the Future of Work, Sharon Bonney, CEO of the Coalition on Adult Basic Education (COABE), points out a vital but often overlooked resource: "There is a lack of awareness about the public workforce and education systems in place that are meant to help employers solve these critical challenges, such as adult basic education, integrated education, and training programs." Compounding this issue is the fact that many employers struggle not only with talent acquisition but also with workforce development. Bonney explains, "We hear regularly from our employer partners that they are having trouble not only finding the skilled workers but understanding the best strategies to grow and upskill their own workforce." Our market study dives deeper into these workforce challenges and explores innovative solutions at the intersection of AI and workforce development.
