We are raising $25,000 to provide these students with the essential support they need this school year. We had 17 asylum-seekers become students this Summer Quarter. We found out that many asylum-seekers have been settled in an apartment complex on the same block as Literacy Source. This continues to reflect the huge need for the classes we offer in the Lake City area. We also acknowledge that the asylum-seeker is a term and immigration status that is not discussed as often and is of certain interest to us given this opportunity.
