📢 Today, October 3rd, is Latina Equal Pay Day– a critical reminder that Latinas must work nearly 10 extra months to earn what their white, non-Hispanic male counterparts earned last year alone. 💼 The pay gap is real: Latinas are paid just 57 cents for every dollar earned by white men. This disparity isn’t just a statistic—it affects families, communities, and future opportunities for millions of women. 🗣️ It’s time for change! We must: • Advocate for equal pay in every workplace • Support policies that uplift Latinas and all women of color • Ensure fair and transparent compensation practices Let’s work together to close the gap and build a future where all women are valued and compensated fairly for their work. Thank you to our National Steering Committee who lead this incredible work! #LatinaProfessionals #LatinaEqualPay #EqualPayForAll #PayEquity #LatinaPower

We are grateful to have been able to share space with the community last night September 18, for a local screening of A Rising Tide, a documentary that sheds light on the lives impacted homelessness and the systems that contribute to its perpetuity. Our Communications Manager, Ray Casarez, had some great conversations with the film's Director, Cheryl Fabio, about the impact of community story telling as a fellow filmmaker for our agency's own history. 🤝

Our staff therapist, Erika Eufracio reminds us why culturally sensitive care is essential for mental health.  🧡 Understanding culture allows us to provide a safe, supportive space for healing. Representation matters, and we're here to honor every story. We are so proud of the amazing work that our clinical support team is able to provide for our beautiful communities. #HispanicHeritageMonth #MentalHealthMatters

Happy Hispanic Heritage Month! 🌸 💐 🌺 This month, we celebrate the richness of our cultures, our histories, and most importantly, our people. “¡Viva la Gente Que Lucha!” (Long live the people who fight!). We honor all those who face challenges every day, break barriers, and move forward with pride, strength, and resilience. 🙌🏽 From our grandparents who paved the way to the new generation that continues to dream and fight, today we celebrate their stories and their legacy. We continue to stand for social justice, equality, and the rights of all people in our communities. Together, we rise. ✊🏽 • #LiveLaFamilia #HispanicHeritageMonth

La Familia is proud to stand in partnership with our community to support St. Rose Hospital and keeping its doors open as we urge the Attorney General and Governor to support its acquisition by Alameda Health System. Today, we were privileged enough to be a part of a press event in partnership with Assemblymember Liz Ortega, Board of Supervisor Elisa Márquez, fellow community organizations, members, and other elected officials to address this need for our South Hayward neighborhood. #SaveSaintRose #Partnership

On August 11, 2024, our annual Concert in the Park was a spectacular success! Huge thanks to our partners, H.A.R.D and the Odd Fellows, for selecting our sister organization, FESCO (Family Emergency Shelter Coalition) as the beneficiary of this exciting event. 💚 The highlight of the evening was the amazing performance by The Giant Garage Spiders, who had the crowd dancing and singing along! We also appreciate La Finca Tortilleria for generously donating chips for our nacho sale, which were a delicious hit! This incredible evening showcased the strength of our community and support for FESCO. Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating music, friendship, and giving back!
