In previous posts, we’ve mentioned the COOLINGBIS system, but today we want to give you an in-depth look at what it is and why it’s a crucial component in our fight against liver cancer. COOLINGBIS, developed by Vecmedical, is a radiofrequency-assisted device designed to achieve additional coagulation at the tumor margins during partial or total resection of organs like the liver, kidneys, pancreas, and spleen. This means that during tumor removal surgery, the system enables an extra layer of safety around the tumor margins. This precision helps reduce the risk of local cancer recurrence, offering patients a better chance of recovery and fewer postoperative complications. Additionally, COOLINGBIS features an innovative internal cooling system that prevents tissue from sticking to the electrode, making the procedure even safer. This system combines advanced technology with a minimally invasive approach, resulting in faster recovery and less impact on patients’ quality of life. 🚀 1st Annual Meeting of the LIVERATION🚀 project. Yesterday we received key updates from our coordinators and partners: Carlos Fuste  and Patricia Sánchez-Velázquez  (IMIM) shared the progress of the project, from milestones reached to challenges ahead. We have already enrolled 46 patients in the clinical trial! Really great news, isn't it?🌟 Miriam Rol García, Ph.D. (ECRIN) gave us an overview of the progress in the participating countries and clinical centers, as well as the flexibility needed in patient recruitment and the next targets. 🔍 Second day of the 1st Annual Meeting of LIVERATION 🔍 Today we had key presentations that are helping to shape the future of the project: 🔹Alexandra Dima  (FAD) presented us with the translation and integration of PROMs and PREMs into the study tools, an update on data collection and the challenges it faces, as well as an overview of the Living Labs study protocol and its implementation. 🔹Eduardo Luque (IMIM) delved into clinical trial development at the patient level, providing crucial information for research success. 🔹 Paola Bello  (SHINE) presented the Social Innovation framework, focusing on finding relevant partners and planning ethical dialogue workshops.
