In the first episode of Living Medicine, Dr. Signi Goldman and Dr. Sandra (Sandy) Newes are interviewed by Rise25’s Chad Franzen about psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy. Together, they explain how it enhances traditional psychotherapy techniques, how they incorporate trauma, nature, ceremonies, and rituals into their approaches, and how they address psychological safety concerns. The impact of Helene on our First Responders in western North Carolina will be as catastrophic as the hurricane. The therapists at Responder Support Services (RSS) working with our rescue workers will need support themselves to guide the first responders through the trauma that comes with their jobs. To help, Living Medicine Institute, RSS, and Concierge Medicine and Psychiatry are partnering to sponsor a two-day supportive retreat for the RSS therapists embedded with first responders and carrying first responder caseloads. With your donations, we hope to schedule the first retreat this month or in November at Rites of Passage Council's donated retreat site near Asheville, NC. Funds raised will pay for ongoing costs: event spaces, staffing, food, and lodging. https://lnkd.in/g-auv7_U #HeleneAftermath #TraumaSupport #WesternNC #Asheville #TherapistSupport #FirstResponders
