Meet Leo: UnChained’s Gentle Giant Seeking His Forever Family Leo, a 5-year-old mixed breed, is currently in UnChained’s Canines Teaching Compassion (CTC) program at Monterey County Youth Center. This program pairs rescue dogs like Leo with at-risk youth, fostering empathy, responsibility, and growth for both. 🌟🐕 This is Leo’s second time in the CTC program—not because he isn’t adoptable, but because he’s still waiting for that perfect family. Leo is calm, loving, and fantastic with children and other dogs. He’s an amazing companion who’s just waiting for the right match to come along. Volunteer Spotlight: Leigh’s Inspiring Experience with UnChained 🐾💛 We are incredibly grateful for our volunteers, like Leigh, who have supported UnChained in so many ways over the years. Most recently, Leigh helped transport dogs for our Canines Teaching Compassion (CTC) program, and shared her experience from our latest graduation: "I loved this graduation! Thank you so much for inviting me to come. I don't know what I was expecting but I was absolutely delighted by these boys' enthusiasm, charm, and congeniality! I was first surprised by the fact that they greeted us at the entrance to the courtyard and shook hands and introduced themselves. That has never happened at any of the other graduations I've been to! They clearly loved the dogs and were proud of their own, and the dog's, accomplishments. Wow, wow, wow! Did I mention their charm?!? It was also much easier to hear them at this venue as it was so much smaller and contained! Oh and I also enjoyed talking with the donor from New Leaf! She was very nice and seemed dedicated to the program! Unfortunately, I cannot remember her name! Thanks again." 🌟 Volunteers are the heart of our mission, helping us create second chances for both youth and shelter dogs. Thank you, Leigh, for your dedication and compassion! Meet Tito: UnChained's Resilient Pup Looking for a Forever Home Tito (Theodore), a 1.5-year-old Chihuahua mix, is just beginning his journey with UnChained’s Canines Teaching Compassion (CTC) program at Monterey County Youth Center, and he's already making an incredible impact. Tito came to us after surviving a difficult injury, and his journey with us has been one of resilience and transformation. Through the CTC program, Tito is helping at-risk youth learn important life skills such as empathy and responsibility while preparing himself for a loving forever family. Adopting Tito means becoming a part of his incredible story—and continuing to make an impact in the community. Tito is available for adoption now, and he graduates on November 8th.
