Sensible, practical guidance that leads to the opportunity to demonstrate truly inclusive leadership through taking it into consideration and implementing its suggestions.
With Ramadan just around the corner, it's incredibly important to be mindful and considerate of your Muslim colleagues over the coming weeks. ❤️ Not quite sure how to show your consideration? Feel a bit unsure about what Ramadan even is? Don't have anyone you can ask? Thankfully, the fabulous Nujhat H., Senior Sales Associate at Flex Legal, has pulled together this wonderfully handy guide to Ramadan. In it she takes us through what and when this holy month is, why it is celebrated exactly, and how you can help to support any colleagues who are taking part. Here's a quick sneak peek of Nujhat's top three tips for non-Muslim employers and colleagues: 💤 Be more mindful around Muslim colleagues who are fasting and understand that they are likely to be more tired than they usually would be. ⏰ Temporarily push meeting times back where possible. For example, moving morning catch-up meetings to 10am instead of 9am. A simple, easy change that will go a long way to showing your true consideration. 🍛 Allow your employees who are fasting to leave earlier than normal. This means that they will be able to make it back home in time to break their fast with the rest of their family, an incredibly important part of Ramadan. Thank you to Nujhat for sharing these tips with us and the wider legal community, and Ramadan Mubarak to all our followers who are taking part. 💫 #ramadan2024 #ramadanmubarak #diversityinlaw #muslimcommunity
